A
standard almond cookie, these taste best when they are thin and
crunchy. They're pretty easy to make and you can cut them out
to any shape you like. I usually just use a plastic cup or
two, making circles or wreath shapes.
INGREDIENTS 2/3 cup butter, softened 1 cup of
sugar 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon of
salt 1 egg 1 tablespoon milk 1 teaspoon of almond
extract 2 drops of yellow food coloring 2 cups of flour 1/2 cup of crushed almond
pieces

Cream butter & sugar. Mix in other
ingredients one at a time, stirring thoroughly. Split dough in
half and chill for at least 45 minutes (30 min in fridge / 15 in
freezer). Roll out, cut out, and place on an ungreased cookie
sheet. Cook in oven at 375 degrees for 12-14 minutes, removing
when edges are brown.
Makes about 50 cookies
(depending on how big you cut them).
